Volleyball

Traditional volleyball is played in the spring with the championship games held at Summer Games. Volleyball state tournament is a double elimination tournament.  Volleyball is divided into three division/levels. 

 

Team Levels:  Each team shall be placed into one of three Levels of play, based on attributes that best characterizes their team.  The Level placement is subject to change by the SOIN Flag Football Committee prior to the tournament. THE STATE OFFICE IS ASKING THAT WE FOLLOW THESE LEVELS FULLY. ANY QUESTIONS MUST BE DIRECTED TO THE STATE OFFICE. 

LEVEL 1 Regulation Rules / High:  plays by regulation rules; high to excellent skills and athleticism; runs specific plays; several players can catch a pass while running; reacts to the way the other team plays; quarterback has an accurate and string arm; defense plays aggressively without being physical.
LEVEL 2 Regulation Rules / Average:  plays by regulation rules; average skills and athleticism; some strategies; a couple of players can catch a pass while running; limited ability to react to the way the other team play play; quarterback has an accurate and string arm; defense has difficulty with playing aggressively without being physical.
LEVEL 3 Modified Rules / Low:  following rules is a challenge; low skills and athleticism; little strategy; no organized plays; players are not able to catch a pass while running; not influenced by the way other team plays; quarterback has an accurate and string arm;  defense has difficulty with playing aggressively without being physical.
