Special Sports Boosters Christmas Dinner Dance
When: December 15, 2013 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Where: Immanuel Luterhan School Gym, 1700 N Monticello, Valpo
Social Hour and dancing from 4 – 5 pm
Dinner at 5:00 pm
Dancing from 6 – 8 pm.
Santa may be making an appearance so make sure you are on your best behavior.
We are asking that everyone bring a $5.00 unwrapped gift to share with needy families. Suggestions are: Hats, Mittens, Socks, Scarves, games, toys or $5.00 donation. You may also come up with your own idea.
This will be a dress up dance, so wear your Sunday best or Semi-formal which ever you prefer. Anyone wearing jeans will not be admitted!

9/8/26 Barney M. Woycik 9/8/13
Barney M. Woycik, 87, of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013, his 87th birthday. A lifetime resident, he was born September 8, 1926 in Valparaiso to Louis and Mary Woycik. Barney graduated from Valparaiso High School where he was an outstanding athlete. He served in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division during WWII in the Philippines and Japan, and participated on the paratrooper football and track teams. Barney was Maintenance Supervisor at McGill Manufacturing for 40 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, lifetime member of American Legion Post 94 and was the Ski School Director at The Pines Ski Lodge for as long as it was in operation. Barney enjoyed his dogs, working in his yard, tending flower beds, playing golf and tennis, and was active at the Valpo Y six days a week. He was devoted to his family and leaves a legacy of love for the outdoors, snow sports, and tent camping. On June 20, 1953 in Staten Island, NY, Barney married Lorrie Spruth, who survives, along with three children: Cheryl (Stan) Grebe of Arvada, CO, Mark (Barb) Woycik of Conifer, CO, and Carol and Ed Noland of Valparaiso; six grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, and Justin Noland, and Brian, Amy, and Brandon Grebe; and eight and one-half great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter; and one sister, Jenny Haberstroh. Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, a memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 N. Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso, where the memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11am with the Rev. Steve Bongard officiating.
